Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States, and his late wife, former First Lady Rosalynn Carter, are widely known not only for President Carter’s time in office from 1977 to 1981 but also for their deep commitment to faith, humanitarian efforts, and advocacy for peace. Together, they founded The Carter Center, promoting peace, human rights, and global health. Both have taught Sunday School in their hometown of Plains, Georgia, sharing their faith and values with others. Mrs. Rosalynn, was a champion for mental health and caregiving. She worked alongside President Carter to improve the lives of people around the world. Their legacy of humility, compassion, and justice, rooted in their Christian beliefs, continues to inspire servant leadership.

Its mission is to resolve conflicts, advance democracy, fight disease, and improve mental health around the world.
